Molecular phylogeny of the genus Tropiocolotes (Peters, 1880) in Iran

In the present study, forty specimens of the genus Tropiocolotes were used that collected from different meaning-ful distances from southern slopes of Zagros Mountains. Two different mtDNA genes (16S and CO I) were used as the molecular marker. One samples were retrieved from Genbank (from Africa) as a criteria and compared with other samples. Un-corrected genetic distances were calculated for two genes independently and the highest dis-tance for 16S result between Hormozgan and Bushehr populations as 3.8%. On the other hand the lowest distanc-es were obtained between South Fars and Khair as 2.2%. High genetic distance for CO I were obtained between Bushehr and Khamir populations as 7.7%. Population from Bushehr belong to T.naybandensis and the others still known as T. cf. steudneri. Un-corrected genetic distance were calculated among Hormozgan and Bushehr populations and sample from Africa for CO I gene. Distances were obtained as 18% and 16.7% for Hormozgan and Bushehr populations respectively.
