Synthesis and Dyeing Properties of a Monoazo Disperse Dye Containing of 4-Carboxylicacid Azobenzene-4-N, N-Diethylamino-2-Acetanilide on Polyester

A novel monoazo disperse dye was prepared from p-amino benzoic acid as the diazo component and 3-N,N-diethylaminoacetanilide constituted the coupling component. The synthesized dye was purified by TLC method and then was characterized by analytical instruments such as FTIR, Mass spectra and UV-Visible techniques. The dispersion of the synthesized dye was prepared and utilized on polyester fabric by HT method and its dyeing properties were investigated. The synthesized dye showed good levelling and builds up on polyester. This dye had excellent wash fastness and medium light fastness on polyester fabrics.
