چکیده مقاله:

Background: Biodistribution is a method of tracking where compounds of interest travel in an experimental animal or human subject. Our previous in vitro studies were showed that ICD-85 (venom derived peptides) has been anti-proliferative effect and anti-angiogenesis activity on almost cancer cells through induction of apoptosis with out significant effect on normal cells. The aim of this study is to determine and compare the tissue distribution of ICD-85 after intravenous (I.V) injection. Methods: ICD-85 was labeled with 131I and I.V injected to healthy and breast tumor bearing mice. The biodistribution was studied in various organs at different times after injection. Results: Our results showed that the bioaccumulation of ICD-85 within 30 min was above 15% in breast tumour and at 45 min the maximum level of ICD-85 was found in kidney. The rate of accumulation of ICD -85 in tumour versus blood was found to be 295% at 30 min. Conclusions: In conclusion based on the results obtained, it is clear that at early time following I.V injection of ICD-85, the maximum bioaccumulation occurs in tumour and later in kidney and liver.
