چکیده مقاله:
In this paper, using mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones in the classroom by the students was investigated. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of different mobile devices and specifically mobile learning in higher education was identified and outlined. The objectives of the study were achieved by extensive review of the literature, including studies which examined the application and effectiveness of mobile devices for educational purposes from the mid-1990s. The results of this exploration highlighted the potential of mobile devices and technologies such as e-books, handheld computers, and reusable learning objects for learning and teaching practices, and provided information on the benefits and shortcomings of each device, their functions, reasons for using them, and main factors influencing their application in higher education. Some recommendations for using appropriate type of technology and the way they can be used as an educational tool to meet certain academic needs were also offered
