Dicyanomethane in the Form of a Coordination Polymer

Dicyanomethane was reacted with tert-butyl arsenic dilithium in a mixture of tetrahydrofuran and trimethyl ethylene diamine. Dicyanomethane was deprotonated leading to the formation of a kind of coordination polymer. The resulted coordination polymer was characterized using NMR- and FT-IR spectroscopy, Mass spectrometry and single crystal structure analysis. According to the result of analysis, the crystallized product contain cations and anions extending in an infinite helix chain along [010].
