OHSAS 18002:2000; LATEST REGARDING OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY STANDARDS. MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, AND THEIR APPLICATION IN THE CORROSION RELATED INDUSTRIES

With reference to my experiences as General Physician/HSE manager to local (Iranian) and international Industries, government and private, there are too many industrial disorders/diseases etc. related to the Corrosion related Industries. Each department produces specific disorders and diseases in these industries workers and affects the well being of employees, temporary workers, contractor personnel, visitors and any other persons in the workplace too. Much has been said and published about the OHSAS 18001:1999 occupational health and safety standard, management system, but it lacks important items e.g. intent, typical inputs, processes, typical outputs, etc. In this regard OHSAS 18002:2000 has been developed which explains the underlying principles of ORSAS 18001:1999 and describes the intent, typical inputs, processes, and typical outputs against each requirement of OHSAS 18001. This is to aid understanding andimplementation ofORSAS 18001. Because of the importance of the subject, it is necessary that the Corrosion related industries be informed about OHSAS 18002:2000 so that a complete understanding and implementation ofORSAS 18001: 1999 be provided.
