چکیده مقاله:

Packaging plays an important role in prolonging food’s useful life and its safety. Innovative packaging methods are developing progressively. Almost most of new packaging methods, are based on a mixture of Biotechnology and nanotechnology. So that, this study was designing to review and compare some of new packaging methods. Synthetic polymers have been used widely in the past few decades, but nowadays, because of their non-degradability and non-environmental friendly issue, biopolymers which are derived from plant materials, animal and microbial products has drove special attention of packaging industry researchers. Antimicrobial activity of nanoparticles, Being able to use nanotechnology in order to evaluate food quality, and absorbing extra destructive material inside the package are from the abilities, which can help researchers in the production of efficient and safe food packaging. It seems that the integration of nanotechnology and biotechnology will be better for the production of materials for the packaging of food products and at the same time, probable dangers of these technologies require a comprehensive research on production food packaging materials, in terms of reusing these materials, recycling and remanufacturing, and also their approaches towards the environmental protection.
