چکیده مقاله:

Cerium oxide nanoparticles CeO2 NPs have been given potential interests to develop useful new treatment modalities for oxidative-stress induced disorders. In order to understand whether the antioxidant activity of CeO2 NPs can be translated into potential therapeutics in the clinic, it is important to evaluate the cytotoxic effect of CeO2 NPs on biological system such as biomacromolecules. In this study, the reaction of CeO2 NPs with human hemoglobin (Hb) was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy and iron release from hemoglobin was recorded. It was seen the release of iron form heme pocket goes up as the concentration of CeO2 NPs increases. This obtained data may reveal that CeO2 NPs can change the conformational structure of proteins and may interfere with the function of proteins
