applying DEA: Insight case study of Automobile industry in Iran

The purpose of this paper is to prioritize failure mode and improve Machinery failure mode and effects analysis (MFMEA) by applying DEA techniques, this approach ranks failure modes in machine by focusing on SOD in stead of classical RPN to improve scales for SOD. This paper is an applied paper that tries to implement DEA technique to decision making in prevention and maintenance in Automobile industry in Iran. Thereby, an advanced factory in Automobile industry was selected and this approach was implied for a certain Die-cast machine. The results show that DEA technique has more precise ranking. Furthermore, analyzingthe sensitivity is provided more scientifically.
