The Relationship of Narcissistic Personality Characteristics with Rage, Forgiveness and Religious Attitude

It has always been suggested that narcissistic personality individuals due to their low selfconfidenceare sensitive and fragile when faced with criticism and failure and it believed thatNPD individuals use aggressive strategies as reaction to threat. The main objective of thisstudy was to investigate the relation of narcissistic personality characteristics with rage,forgiveness and religious attitudes. 112 individuals (47 male students, 65 female students) ofall students studying at Shiraz University in 2016-2017 were randomly selected to participatein the study. All participants indorsed the following measures; aggression questionnaire (Buss& Perry, 1992), religious attitude questionnaire (Golriz and Barahani) and NPI-16(Ames, etal. 2005). Results from Regression and correlation analysis indicated NPD to have a positivesignificant relationship with the total score aggression and with hostility factor. Moreover, thehostility factor was a direct predictor of NPD.
