Privacy-Preserving Sybil Attack Detection inVehicular Ad-Hoc Networks

Security is an important concern in VANETs. One type of malicious attack s called Sybil attacks, where in a malicious vehicle pretend to be multiple other vehicle. Reported data from a Sybil attacker will appear to arrive from multiple vehicles. This paper proposed a framework to detect Sybil attack, while preserving the privacy of vehicle in vehicular ad-hoc networks. The proposed scheme not only guarantees security and anonymity, but also provides easy traceability property when the identity of the sender of a message has to be revealed by the authority.
