A Survey of the Persian Translation of the Animation The Croods , According to Vinay and Darbelnet s model

The present study aimed to analyze and determine the strategies of translation in the subtitling of animation The Croods from English to Persian according to Vinay and Darbelnet’s models of translation strategies. Because of this reason, the subtitle of this animation was only under the study. The methodology of the study is a descriptive and qualitative one. The results showed that oblique strategy such as transposition, modulation, equivalence and adaptation occurred more than other strategies such as borrowing, calque and literal translation in the subtitling of animation because majority of dialogue are not formal and they are just presented for the consideration of children and as mentioned in the tables within the thesis. Application of this strategy makes the animation to be easily understandable and comprehensible for the children. The results of this study can be considered or applied in the related fields by those researchers who are interested in doing research in the field of animations and movies.
