Antisocial Behaviour and Mother-Adolescent Conflict among Iranian Middle Adolescent

The main issue addressed in this paper is the relationships between mother-adolescent conflict and antisocial behaviour in adolescent. Sample was 385 middle adolescents’ girl and boy that randomly assigned to conduct the present study. In order to select the samples the cluster randomsampling was used. Adolescent antisocial behaviour was measured by the Delinquent Behaviour Scale (DBS). It shows a positive relationship between mother-adolescent conflict and antisocialbehaviour among adolescents. The Pearson product-moment correlation analysis is utilized to answer this objective. The analysis showed that there is a positive significant correlation(r=.273**) between mother-adolescent conflict and antisocial behaviour of adolescents. The findings demonstrate that as can be seen, mother-adolescent conflict was correlated withantisocial behaviour in adolescent. That is, with an increase in mother-adolescent conflict, adolescent antisocial behaviour increases. The Multivariate Regression Analysis was used toreach the last objective. Multivariate Regression suggests that among the six predictor variables examined in this study (perceived inter-parental conflict, father-adolescent conflict, motheradolescentconflict, family income, father’s age and mother’s age), only perceived inter-parental conflict, father-adolescent conflict, mother-adolescent conflict and family income significantly explain adolescents’ antisocial behavior. The total model explains .418 percent of the variance in adolescents’ antisocial behavior.
