Perceived Inter-Parental Conflict and Antisocial Behavior among middle Adolescents

The study reviews some empirical researches which emphasize the effect of inter-parental conflict as one of the most important factors on antisocial behavior among adolescents. Research consistently shows that inter-parental conflict affects parent relationships and this poor quality ofrelationships may transfer into poor parent-adolescent relationship that may negatively influence antisocial behavior in adolescents. Meanwhile, research showed that adolescents who areexposed to inter-parental conflict are at increased risk for high level of antisocial behavior. Positive associations between inter-parental conflict and adolescent antisocial behavior have been accounted for by parent-adolescent conflict, lack of parental warmth, and corporal punishment, and hostility and rejection of adolescents
