چکیده مقاله:

In this research, the effect of using smart windows includingelectrochromic and thermochromic windows on the buildingenergy consumption were studied for four major climateregions of Iran including mild, warm-dry, warm-humid andcold ones. A single objective and a multi objective geneticalgorithm (NSGA-II) method was coupled with EnergyPlusbuilding energy simulation software to optimize the designparameters leads to increase the building energyperformance. Mono criterion and multi criteria optimizationanalyses of the annual total electricity consumption wereboth studied to evaluate the most effective method forminimizing the total annual building energy demand. Theresults showed that multi-criteria optimization method mayrender better results and leads up to 31.9% using athermochromic window.
