Sensitivity Analysis on energy dissipation in granular medium Using simple SDOF model

In this paper, an SDOF system was used to analogy with acomplicated granular medium, in order to investigatesensitivity of energy dissipation to the friction coefficientand damping ratio of particles in a granular medium. Thegranular medium consists of many spherical particles. Themedium is subjected to sinusoidal vibrations and the energydissipated is calculated using the area of hysteresis loop.The comparison of sensitivity analysis between thesimulated SDOF model and other works has beenmentioned. Other research is based on DEM or experimentthe results show a good agreement and returns similarresults at some cases.
