چکیده مقاله:

Effects of jet inlet geometry and Reynolds number on localheat transfer characteristics of two confined impinging jetshave been investigated numerically by using a 3D k-εmodel. Simulations were performed for two jet exitgeometries including circular and elliptic jets fordimensionless jet to plate distances 2,6.As the Reynolds number increases, heat transferenhancement was obtained at stagnation region. As a resulthigher Reynolds number jets can be used as an enhancementtechnique for localized heating or cooling. Wall jet regioncomprises very large portion of the impinging plate understudy and generally lower heat transfer rates were attained inthis region. Also with increasing jet to plat distance, heattransfer enhancement was observed at stagnation point. Atwall jet region, very similar heat transfer characteristicswere observed for two jets. With increasing jet to platedistance, heat transfer of elliptic jet is more efficient.
