چکیده مقاله:
The present study investigated the relationship between two factors of GAI and CPI in Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-IV) with Wechsler Individual Achievement Test Second Edition (WIAT-II) Scores. To do this, 36 people (18 girls and 18 boys) were selected by random multi-stage cluster method among girl and boy students of elementary school in Khoram Abad town of Lorestan province during academic year 2009-2010. WISC-IV and WIAT-II tests were performed for them. After data collection, descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient, t-test and multi-variate regression analysis (concurrent method) were applied. The main findings by Pearson correlation coefficient showed that there was a positively significant association between GAI score of WISC-IV and total score and subscales of WIAT-II test. Also, there was a positively significant association between CPI score of WISC-IV and total score and subscales of WIAT-II. It can be said CPI factor is influenced by active memory function and processing speed and by any failure, it reduces learning and it has negative effect on academic achievement. It is worth to mention that there is a high correlation between CPI and academic achievement. Generally there was a positively significant association between all subscales and main and minor factors and total score of WISC-IV except subscale decoding and PSI factor with total score of WIAT-II scale at the level 0.01. The results showed that VCI is the only prediction factor of total score of WIAT-II. The share of VCI in prediction of total score of WIAT-II was 0.642 and it showed more effect of VCI on prediction of total score of WIAT-II of students.
