Seismic hazard assessment of big cities is imperative to mitigate the potential damage and loss of life due to earthquakes. This study has carried out seismic hazard analysis and Peak Ground Horizontal Acceleration (PGHA) in different regions of Khoy City, located in West Azerbaijan Province of Iran.The results are presented by spectral isoacceleration maps for two levels of hazard. To achieve this goal, at first a catalog of all the historical and instrumentally recorded earthquakes covering timeline from 735 up to 2016, in a radius of 150 km around Khoy city, has been gathered and processed for elimination of the aftershocks and foreshocks from main occurrences list and then seismicity parameters have been obtained by Kijko (2000) method. The seismic sources of the considered region have been studied and modeled. In order to determine the PGHA, an appropriate attenuation relationship and CRISIS software have been employed. Finally, two seismic hazard maps of the studied area based on Peak Horizontal Ground Acceleration (PGHA) over bedrock for 2 and 10% probability of exceedance in one life cycles of 50 year are presented.
