چکیده مقاله:

Titanium diboride compound was prepared via volume combustion synthesis (VCS) method. The effect of heating rate in the range of 4 to 30°C/min on ignition characteristics, particles composition, morphology and dimension were investigated. Results showed that ignition temperature was increased from 640°C to 840°C with the increasing the heating rate from 4 to 30°C/min, accordingly. Higher heating rate resulted in more agglomeration of particles due to the sintering of particles synthesized at higher temperature. The results showed that an intermediate heating rate of 15°C/min introduced the smallest particles size with an average size of about 40nm.
