Web-enabled motor monitoring and diagnostic system – A wise investment?

Induction motors are the critical component in many industries and are frequently integrated with commercially available machineries. Electrical motors play a very vital role in keeping various process systems of a plant healthy. It is therefore imperative for plant O&M personnel to ensure the reliability and availability of the motors. The major aim of condition monitoring program is to enhance the equipment readiness and uptime. With the continuous change in customer demand regarding prompt service/solutions, on-line monitoring systems are gaining considerable significance. A system has been developed to provide an on-line web enabled condition monitoring solutions for diversified customers. This paper demonstrates various stages in the development of the web based condition monitoring system for motors as a perspective of wise investment.
