Prediction of Compressibility Factor Using Different EOS, A Comparative Study

The correct prediction of thermodynamic properties and phase equilibrium is an important step in the design of any industrial process and this is mainly done with the aid of equations of state (EOS). In this study, six famous EOS include vdW, SRK, PR, PT, TJ, and NM, were implemented to calculate compressibility factor (z) of a binary and a 22 components mixtures. The predictions of the above EOS were then compared with experimental z-factor and corresponding absolute average errors show that some of them are more accurate than others. This type of investigations could be useful in understanding and analyzing the effective parameters of EOS in order to develop more accurate EOS.
