Adsorption of 4-chlorophenol onto activated carbon fibres prepared from kenaf

In this study the adsorption characteristics of 4-chlorophenol from aqueous solution onto activated carbon fibers derived from Kenaf have been analyzed at temperature 26°C. Effect of initial pH on the adsorption of 4-chlorophenol was evaluated. Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin–Radushkevich (D–R) isotherm models were used to illustrate the experimental isotherms and isotherms constants. Our results revealed that Equilibrium data fitted reasonably with the Langmuir isotherm model.
