Enhancement of the Performance of a Polymeric Hydrate Inhibitor with Glycol ethers

Inclusion of glycol ethers into a polymeric inhibitor solution was found to enhance the inhibitor performance during natural gas hydrate formation. Isochoric static hydrate formation experiments were conducted in a pressure stirred vessel in a batch manner at a pressure about 95 bar and 4 oC. Results show that glycol ether compounds prolong the induction time, and extend the delay of crystal growth rate.
