Nanocomposite hydrogel based on allyl tetrasodium thiacalix[4]arene tetrasulfonate/acrylic acid/sodium alginate/TiO2

Hydrogel nanocomposites based on alginate polysaccharide were prepared by graft copolymerization of sodium alginate (SA) with acrylic acid (AA) and allyl tetrasodium thiacalix[4]arene tetrasulfonate (ASTCA) in the presence of TiO2, using Ethylene Glycole Di-Methyl Acrylate (EGDMA) and ammonium persulfate as crosslinker and initiator, respectively. The synthesized samples were characterized by TEM. The influence of TiO2 content on some Swelling properties of the nanocomposites was considered
