Preparation an Active packaging as Oxygen scavenger for Food Packaging

Oxygen scavengers are one of the most important and most extensively used types of active packagingemployed for food packaging that have been developed to satisfy the needs of their users for long shelf life,and controlled quality, of foods.In this research, oxygen-scavengersfilms were prepared from a mixture ofLDPE, EVOH, with various percentages of ascorbic acid (oxygen scavengers), using the internal mixing ystem at temperature of 160 0C and 100 RPM in 3.5 minutes. The results showed that the mechanical andpermeability properties of the mixture with 2% ascorbic acid in comparing to other mixtures were improved. Therefore, this mixture was selected to study the total oxygen absorption properties. The Result showed that,after 30 days, oxygen content in the sample decreased from 21.1 to 17.02 percent
