The environmental and social-political evaluation of renewable energy sources for generating electricity in Hormozgan province

Limited fossil energy resources and the problems of greenhouse gas emissions have caused increasing attention to renewable energy sources. This study is aimed at identifying the best renewable energy alternative for Hormozgan province by using AHP method. Effective criteria are classified into two main groups, environmental and socialpolitical criteria.It is shown that solar energy is the most appropriate renewable energy option in environmental and socialpoliticalevaluation for Hormozgan province
