The present study is an investigation of the effect of explicit vs. implicit input modification on Iranian pre-intermediate EFL students listening performance. Participants in this study were consisted of ٦٠ students that major course of them studying English in Azad university of Dezful. To assure the criterion of homogeneity, ٦٠ students were selected from ٩٠ learners based on the results obtained from a TOEFL proficiency test which was conducted at the beginning of the study. A pretest and posttest of listening contain original listening (Cloze test of listening, written some word of the listening on the board, play the listening ٢ or ٣ times).Two groups were randomly selected as a control group and experimental group in the study. Experimental group receive treatment but control group doesn't receive any treatment last ٢ months. There was a one- month interval between pretest and posttest. The results of the pretest and posttest in data analysis through statistical procedure such as t-test confirmed the superiority of the experimental group to the control group, and displayed explicit listening input modification help to improve listening.
