چکیده مقاله:
The human knows nature, innately beautiful and the use of natural forms in the creation ofarchitectural works will guarantee its aesthetic successfulness. Nature within several millionyears of evolution has achieved the most ideal solutions. Therefore, using natural forms andfunctional mechanisms of the organisms, in the creation of architectural works will guarantee itsefficacy. Thus, we will achieve the architecture with features including the most beautiful forms,maximum interaction with the surrounding environment, the less damage to the environment,and reducing waste of energy and optimal use of materials. And this is what bionic architectureseeks it. In this paper, we study the concepts and principles of bionic architecture and then weinvestigate one of the most significant monuments of Iran from the perspective of consistentbionic principles used in it so that the relationship between bionic architecture which is one oftoday world's leading styles and Islamic Iranian traditional architecture becomes more visible.And thus the way for the expansion of Iranian contemporary architecture in the bionic style, andin connection with the cultural identity of the country is created. The selected monument of thisstudy, is Sheikh Lotfallah Mosque, which is one of Iran's most important buildings and it hasbeen registered in Lists of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO as a heritage of humanity. Thismonument is notable in different aspects. In this paper, we study this monument from theperspective of the same principles used in bionic architecture in its construction, decorations,materials and geometry.
