Affecting Factors on Attitude to Tobacco among Students of University

چکیده مقاله:
This study was conducted with the aim of investigation in familial and social factors attitude totobacco consumption among students in the areas of 8, 10 and 12 of Islamic Azad University inthe years of 2013. In this study, the purpose of tobacco was cigarette, pipe and hookah. Thepopulation was including of 382453 Islamic Azad University students in the areas of 8, 10 and 12that 384 persons were considered as a sample size among them by using Kerjcy and Morgan tableand relative stratified random sampling. To ensure more, 450 questionnaires were distributed and426 questionnaires were returned (349 persons in area 8, 33 persons in area 10 and 44 persons inarea 12). Data collection was carried out through questionnaires. Retest reliability was used for thedetermination of the questionnaire reliability, which its reliability was verified. In addition, contentvalidity is used to test the validity of the questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out through SPSSsoftware in the two aspects of descriptive (frequency, frequency percentage, average and standarddeviation) and inferential (X2 test). The results showed that among ten of the indicators related tofamilial factors, factors of marital status, father’s occupation, mother’s occupation, father’seducation, mother’s education, family poverty and normality of smoking in family had significantrelationship with the consumption of tobacco products. It was also concluded that there was nosignificant relationship between the duration of marriage, number of children and spouse’seducation and the consumption of tobacco products. Among seven of the indicators related tosocial factors, factors of social class, ban on smoking in the workplace or home, intimaterelationship with friends who smoke, employment status and pleasure had significant relationshipwith the consumption of tobacco products, while there was no significant relationship betweenethnicity and disappointment with career prospects and the consumption of tobacco products.Among five of the indicators related to economic factors, factors of socio-economic class, incomeand employment status had significant relationship with the consumption of tobacco products,while there was no significant relationship between house status and house type and theconsumption of tobacco products. In addition, findings showed that take delight and intimacy inrelation with friends who smoke is the most important reason for the student’s attitude to tobaccoconsumption.
