چکیده مقاله:
The slogan "It's no e-commerce, if you can't get paid!" led to the rapid development of electronic payment Methods. As from the beginning of the late 70's an impressive number of innovative electronic payment systems have been developed and tested commercially. However, the resulting variety and complexity of the systems have turned out to be one of the obstacles for the broad acceptance of electronic payment. This paper begins by describing currently available e-payment methods and defining the technological, economic, and social factors that characterize these systems. It then analyzes these e-payment systems by using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), which is a quantitative method of decision making, to evaluate the performance of five payment systems containing, digital cash, credit cards, E-Cheque, smart cards, and debit cards for retail stores in Iran. Our findings suggest that debit card has the highest performance among others. Also with the increasing influence of wireless systems in today communications, payment systems must become coordinated with wireless devices such as PDAs, Cell phones, etc. Therefore mobile payment (m-payment) systems are designed for PDAs and cellular phones are also addressed in this paper.
