volatile oil constituents of the aerial parts of the scrophularia frigida boiss.subsp. Frigida from iran

The volatile oil obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of scrophularia frigida Boiss. from Ilam was analyzed by GC and GC/MS.Twenty four Components were identified in the oil of the aerial parts of Scrophularia frigida representing (۹۸.۸۹%) of the total components detected. The major components of oil were δ-cadinene (۲۶.۵۷%) , α-cadinol (۱۸.۱۵%), α-muurolol (۱۵.۲۰%) bicyclogermacrene (۹.۵۸%), γ-cadinene (۷.۳۰%) and germacrene D (۵.۵۱%). The oil was rich inregard to sesquiterpens (۹۰.۲۰%), monoterpen and nonterpenoid fractions of the oil was relatively small, representing (۸.۶۹%) of the total oil.
