Facade, as part of a building structure and an interface between inside and outside of a building, plays an important role in building energy consumption and its environmental performance. With the advent of modern technologies, a better understanding of the complex interaction between facade geometry and its environmental performance metrics has been possible. Using these new technologies to address environmental issues in countries like Iran with rich identity and history of art and architecture is a challenging issue. On the other hand Iranian contemporary architecture, regarding environmental crisis, requires new solutions.Accordingly, in this research, we report the design process of an adaptable façade concept with an Iranian geometric pattern, and then we assess its effect on energy consumption and daylight performance of the building in Tehran climate.Simulation was used as a method to evaluate the proposed façade performance. Diva 2.1.1.1 Plug-in for Rhinoceros3D was utilized to assess lighting and cooling load of the building. The result reveals that the proposed façade reduces building energy consumption, compared to baseline spaces with 30%and100%window to wall ratios .Also; it provides the office daylight control in a standard range in different environmental condition.
