Essential features in designing of healthcare places from the perspective of children (Case study: Tabriz Emam Reza hospital)

Consideration of users' viewpoints while utilization of places is one of the community architecture features. This is also applied for children especially in specific places, but unfortunately not taken into serious account in our country. On the other hand, the pediatric ward of hospitals requires more attention due to its special conditions, thus this study seeks to explore the children's views in pediatric wards of hospitals. Therefore, it is essential to explain the parameters affecting the sick children satisfaction, which should be utilized by architectural designers, through the half-open interview and analysis of paintings. Thus, this study has applied approach. The results indicate that for achieving a favourable environment for treatment of sick and disabled children according to the stated requirements by children, we should pay attention to the existence of natural elements, providing facilities for parents and children together, creating places for playing and for meeting and talking, using the lively colors and decorations, using natural light in place, creating a sense of security and subtle control of healthcare staff behavior with children, and appropriate furniture in healthcare places; and application of these factors can promote the quality in healthcare places.
