چکیده مقاله:

With the fast pace of global change and progress, we should admit that essential changes within our educational systems of knowledge generation and use should emerge to act as catalysts for the upward social mobility we have ever sought. In the present article, in rather an exploratory mode, we tried to showcase some issues that will influence Iranian higher education overhaul. One such important issue is the ever missing link of our economy and higher education that can be filled up with transdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity of academic curricula, focusing on postgraduate education as an opportunity, developing generative pedagogy, designing more interactive web-based courses that can capture the spirit of information age, and repositioning of the standing of humanities and social sciences in the research and development model of the new paradigm. We further proposed that due to the increasing emergent epistems and knowledge sources in the digital age, new investigation areas such as digital humanities should be specially taken into account in our earnest bid to progress.
