The Effect of Regulations on Earnings per Share and Credit Risk in the Banking System

One of the effective tools for country economic development, there is an efficient banking system. Banks are the pulse of the financial activities and the situation can have an important impact on other sectors of the economy in a society. This study examines the impact of banks regulations on dividend and credit risk. The study population consisted of all banks listed on Tehran Stock Exchange during the period 2009 to 2014 that their information was disclosed that 7 banks were eligible, for example, were selected. Independent variables included the number of branches, deposit rate and lending rate that their impact on the dependent variables dividend and credit risk assessed. The results showed that the number of bank branches and deposit rates has positive impact on deposit rate and the influence of lending rate on dividends is unimportant. The results showed that the deposit rate and the number of bank branches have no significant effect on credit risk. The lending rate had no significant effect on credit risk.
