Adaptive Surge Control in a Centrifugal Compressor with Spool Dynamics

In this work we study a high-gain adaptive controller for surge suppression in a centrifugal compressor with variable speed .We consider a ystem configuration in which the outlet throttle valve is the actuator and the total pressure at the compressor inlet is considered as the measured output. By using third order compressor model in which the spool dynamic is considered with a proposed nonlinear speed control law. We prove the convergence of the control sheme. finally validate the system performance by means of numerical simulations.
