A method for synthesis of derivatives Benzothiophene by A New green catalyst NCFC [Fe3O4@TBAOH] in catalyst MNCF and Water or free solvent is developed. the catalyst system species, activates the C–H bond at the C3-position of Benzothiophene, xanthens and Spiro[4H-pyran-oxindole]. It occurs naturally as a constituent of petroleum-related deposits such as lignite tar. Benzothiophene has no household use. It is used primarily in industry and research. Being a heterocyclic compound, benzothiophene finds use in research as a starting material for the synthesis of larger, usually bioactive structures. It is found within the chemical structures of pharmaceutical drugs such as raloxifene, zileuton, and sertaconazole, and also BTCP. It is also used in the manufacturing of dyes such as thioindigo. Its aromaticity makes it relatively stable, although as a heterocycle, it has reactive sites which allow for functionalization[1]. Benzothiophene derivatives possessing an acyl group as one of the substituents on the five-membered ring are of immense medicinal value because of their promising pharmacological properties For example, Raloxifene, [2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-6-hydroxybenzo[b]thien-3-yl] [4-[2-(1-piperidinyl)ethoxy]phenyl]-methanone hydrochloride.[2] also The xanthens and Spiro[4H-pyran-oxindole] of derivatives ring system is one of the most important spirocycles found in a variety of natural products. It is also, the central structural framework of bioactive molecules.[1] Furthermore 4H-pyran and oxindole (Isatins) have different properties such as anti-bacterial, anti-coagulation and anti-cancer, they are also used in industry as pigments.[2] Because of limited availablity of these products in natural resources and the more important the problems related to their extraction, attracted the attention of many synthetic chemists. These interesting features justify the efforts paid to the synthesis of these valuable compounds. However, in view of recent emphasis on improvement impact of chemical process due to emission of solvents and waste of expensive catalysts there remains still a need for development of cost effective and environmentally benign methods
