چکیده مقاله:

functionalized graphene oxide (f-GO) nanoparticles with very high specific surface area was used as a reinforcing filler in order to preparing an epoxy-based nanocomposite coating on mild steel. GO was manufactured by the Hummers method and GO was functionalized with hexanediamine as f-GO. Correspondingly corrosion performance of the coatings was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 3.5% NaCl aqueous solution and salt spray test. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) test and monitoring coatings' morphology in corrosion process reveal that the corrosion resistance performance is significantly enhanced by the addition of f–GO hybrids to epoxy. According to current results, f-GO fillers shows more corrosion resistance in comparison with non f-GO. There are several reasons for superiority of the hybrids, which include their high-efficiency plugging inherent micro-pores, sheet structure, and the excellent exfoliation and dispersion in epoxy resin. Herein, the f–GO hybrids presented a proactive application in the field of the Nano fillers for anticorrosive epoxy coatings.
