Cognitive radio network is a concept of wireless communication formobile devices that offers the possibility to exploit the unusedspectrum resources opportunistically. These networks bring out theneed for new solutions that mitigate the spectrum management issue.However, existing works do not focus on devices mobility whereasserious problems arise when users are mobile specifically about theirprovided quality of services. In this work, we study spectrum sharingand spectrum handoff for mobile secondary users (SUs) and wepropose a novel approach that can be executed by a mobile SU whentraveling through wireless networks. The proposed solution isinspired from multi-agent system auctions and integrates a learningmodule which accelerates SUs’ spectrum bands allocation. One of themain contributions of this paper is the realistic implementation of thelearning based auction and the interesting results obtained through anetwork discrete event simulator. Results prove that our proposalenhances spectrum utilization and guarantees users satisfaction.
