Separation of a Propylene-Propane Mixture by a Facilitated Transport Membrane

In this paper, experimental results for the equilibrium constant of the reaction between propylene and silver (Ag + ) were presented and a facilitated transport membrane was used for the separation of propylene-propane mixture. Different mixtures of at 7-14 psig were used in the separation experiments and for a 30:70 propylene-propane (vol.%) propylene-propane mixture, at 14 psig and with 20 wt.% AgNO3 solution, a separation factor of 438 was obtained.
