چکیده مقاله:

Writing a thesis as the culmination of candidates' MA studies is considered as an important stage in their academic life. Scrutinizing the MA theses in terms of oral and written CF, the researchers in the current research were after finding the extent to which universal framework for theses writing receives comments and revisions by examiners and readers in viva sessions. To approach this aim, the researchers attended and recorded some 23 viva sessions being held in different universities in North Western part of Iran. Afterward, the provided corrective steps were transcribed and categorized based on the categories of APA style, content and academic writing style. The findings of the investigation revealed that APA style (n=134) was mostly addressed by examiners in their attempt to comment on the thesis and correcting them. Additionally, referencing and citation (n=87) received the highest degree of oral corrective feedback in viva sessions. The findings of the present study are hoped to contribute to the process of thesis writing and surviving a successful viva session.
