چکیده مقاله:
Architecture as the pot of life, gives shape to human’s soul and psyche and if the architecture is morality-oriented it can foster people who are ethnically eligible and benefit the society. Iranian traditional architecture is a rich source of morality oriented principles which led to an architecture manifesting morality, raising people of ethnic virtues. In this article we peruse about the terminology and concept of ethnics and heritage and benefit them in defining the word ethnic heritage to understand why and how ethnic became a defining factor of heritage. Afterward, Iranian traditional architecture was studied and its ethnically oriented principles were extracted and described. To understand the gap between traditional and modern Iranian architecture in a better way, a comparison between traditional and modern architecture context was performed. So, we exemplified Yazd city, Iranian most noteworthy heritage, that is still comprised of a notable bulk of traditional context beside its modern context and this comparison would lead us to a clear understanding of this ethnic gap in Iranian contemporary architecture. The research method in this article is qualitative, descriptive-analytic and data collection is library method.
