چکیده مقاله:
The attainment of quality has always been one of the goals of human effort. But it was not until the last decades that it really started to occupy the attention of management. Total quality management (TQM) is a management approach centered on quality, based on the participation of an organization’s people and aiming at long term success. TQM is a philosophy with a system science point of view that focuses on continuous improvement within the organization so as to provide superior value to customers. Total quality management has been recognized as a successful management philosophy in the manufacturing and service industries. TQM can likewise be embraced in the construction industry to help raise quality and productivity. Two case studies of construction companies showed how TQM can be successfully implemented in the construction industry. This paper presents the elements total quality management (TQM) process that includes the common elements found in the TQM processes being used by design and construction companies
