Smart Power Grid Implementation in Iran Challenges and Solutions

In this paper, after a review on smart power grid and its benefits versus conventional power grid, we describe required communication infrastructure for a Smart Grid and also investigate essentials for its implementing.The main part of the paper is dedicated to issue of implementing Smart Grid in Iran. First we enumerate prompting agents towards development of current power grid to smart one, then we bring up barriers In implementation of Smart Grid in Iran. Finally solutions to overcome the barriers in implementation of Smart Grid are proposed.
