EFL Learners` Views towards Listening Materials on the Comprehension of Iranian EFL Learners

چکیده مقاله:

This study intends to deal with attitudes of teachers and learners toward authentic listening language. Studies have indicated the positive effect of authentic listening materials on motivation and listening comprehension ability in learners of English as a foreign language. It focused on EFL teachers and students at pre intermediate proficiency level. Recently with the advent of science, the use of learning to assist learners in their language learning especially EFL learning has been integrated into the curriculum. The use of learners as an audio-visual aid in foreign language classrooms with the emphasis on communicative language teaching has attracted both language teachers and learners and it is clear that the use of such a useful learning tool is a great help for language learning. The present study is intended to investigate Iranian FL learner’s attitudes towards the two main English variations and its effect on their listening comprehension. In this study 105 Iranian students studying English as a foreign language at gheshm Azad University were divided. Their listening comprehension abilities and also there is a significant difference between listening comprehension abilities of Iranian EFL learners training. In this paper the results revealed that the authentic materials have benefit for EFL classrooms for the lack of real opportunities that will be existed for learners to be encountered with it while learning.
