Solvent free synthesis of quinoxalines by recyclable nanoparticlesupported iron catalyst on SBA-15

An efficient and novel method for quinoxaline synthesis using nanoparticle-supported iron as a catalyst from 1,2-diamine and 1, 2-dicarbonyl compounds under mild reaction conditions. The immobilized catalyst exhibits excellentactivity and stability and it could be reused for at least ten times without any loss of activity. By atomic absorptionspectroscopy (AAS) no Fe contamination could be detected in the products.
