Evaluation of wall steel thickness effects on bottom uplifting of aboveground cylindrical steel tanks under earthquake

Due to the wide application of storage tanks in various industries, many researchers in recentlydecades have been concentrated the goal of their studies on these structures.The principal purpose of thispaper is to study the relations between the steel thickness of the wall and the dynamic uplifting ratiobeside fluid, structure and soil interactions of the cylindrical aboveground steel tanks under earthquake.The Finite Element Modeling (FEM) strategy was used to simulate dynamic response of the liquid tanksystem. Abaqus is used as the main finite element computer simulation software to make a nonlineardynamic analysis.
