چکیده مقاله:

Today, magnetic nanoparticles are widely used as contrast enhancement in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Theseparticles can enhance image contrast by shortening the transverse relaxation time (T2) and create dark or negativecontrast in T2 and T2* weighted images. In this study, dextrin-coated Zn0.5Fe0.5Fe2O4 was synthesized and characterized using Transmission ElectronMicroscopy (TEM). Then, an agar phantom was made at different concentration of these nanoparticles. The relaxivity(r1, r2) was measured by 1.5 T MRI scanner.TEM image showed these particles have uniform size in the range nanometer. r1 and r2 results showed dextrin-coatedZn0.5Fe0.5Fe2O4 are useful as contrast agent in MRI. We suggested these ultra small nanoparticles for using as contrastagent in lymph node imaging.
