چکیده مقاله:

Silica nanoparticles are widely used in biomedical applications such as drug delivery, cell tracking, and gene transfection. Understanding the toxicity of Silica nanoparticles on the cellular level is crucial forrational design of these nanomaterials for biomedical applications. Herein, we explore the impacts of surfacemodification of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) with carboxyl groups (COOH-MSNs) on cellulartoxicity of TF1cells. For this aim MSNs were synthesized using template-removing method. Prepared MSNswere amine-functionalized and then carboxylated and, characterized by SEM and TEM electron microscopy.MTT assay was employed to evaluate the cytotoxicity of nanoparticles(NPs). The human TF1erythroleukemiccells were treated with different concentrations of MSNs and COOH-MSNs. The resultsrevealed that MSNs have no significant toxicity on TF1 cells at concentrations up to 100 μg/ml and carboxylfunctionalizationof MSNs does not influence their toxicity significantly up to the same concentration.
